Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) was established in 1959, the institute was created with the assistance of a conglomerate of nine leading US research universities as part of the Kanpur Indo-American Programme (KIAP). It quickly rose among the ranks of engineering universities and is currently one of the most prestigious and highest-ranked engineering universities in India.

The aim of the Institute is to provide meaningful education, to conduct original research of the highest standard and to provide leadership in technological innovation for the industrial growth of the country.

The Institute now has its own residential campus spread over 1200 acres of land, about 2506 undergraduate and 1516 postgraduate students, 326 faculty and more than 900 supporting staff. The combined record of its past and present faculty and students along with the alumni spread across the world is awe-inspiring.

Under the guidance of renowned economist John Kenneth Galbraith, IIT Kanpur was the first institute in India to start Computer Science education.




St. Stephen’s College in Delhi

St. Stephen's College is a co-educational institution of higher learning located in University Enclave on the University of Delhi's North campus. In spite of its location in North India, the college has always striven to admit students and select teachers from all communities and from all parts of India. It also admits a small number of students from overseas.

The college was founded on February 1, 1881, by the Cambridge Brotherhood, an Anglican mission from Westcott House, Cambridge, England. It was initially affiliated to the University of Calcutta. It later became one of three original constituent colleges of the University of Delhi when that institution was founded in 1922. The Rev. Samuel Scott Allnutt was mainly responsible for founding the college and served as its first principal. Allnutt is buried by the chapel in the college's present campus. The anniversary of his death is observed as Founder's Day on December 7 each year.

Lady Shri Ram College for Women is situated in South Delhi and was founded by late Sir Shri Ram in the year 1956. With 16 different types of course options, 150 veteran faculty members and around 2000 students Lady Shri Ram College for Women follow the rules and regulations of Delhi University.

Lady Shri Ram College for Women conducts a postgraduate diploma course in conflict transformation & peace building.
