Best University in India For Innovation
Students of Bharath University have shown that their school in one of the best universities in India for innovation by developing India's first humanoid robot and winning the 'Best performance for Innovation Award at the 'Spring Innovations' contest in Singapore. They were competing against 66 other university teams from around the world.
The humanoid robot the team has created can perform various activities like singing, dancing, standing upright and grabbing objects. Touch sensors in the robot's leg help it to identify objects in its path, and it uses a built-in camera for face identification. The robot is 59 cm tall and weighs 4.3 kg. There were 12 students from different fields working on the project, including computer science, ECE and mechanical engineering. An organization called 'Roboin' that provides robotics training to college students also assisted with their work.
